Just noticed that trip1980's syncro doka in the vehicles for sale section is the following reg number to harryman's syncro doka. Make a good matching pair!

Well...
Somebody walked past me while working on canal bank today and asked if G208 THV parked nearby was my van...

Yup 'tis that

Well, I can tell you for sure it's 'done' the RAC Rally...

... as the BBC outside broadcast van :)

It also (as I suspected) was used for filming horse racing with camera on roof (hence hole punched through headlining. . ugh!)

What's the chances of that .. a still working BBC OB technician walking past who's actually worked with it 25 years ago.
It was based at Kendal Avenue, Shepherds Bush area.
Possibly was another one in Bristol...

He's going to dig out some BBC history & photos for me. . obviously thought highly of it... also having land rovers.

PS. SIS private company took over BBC OB as recently as 2008 but now gone bust... putting 240 out of work. He was lucky to keep his job! Just back from the Birmingham Symphony Concert Hall ..
More privatisstion bullocks

My blue caravelle was registered as a government vehicle for the first 8 years of its life. On government plates (got the number written down somewhere) but reg changed when sold off.
Never really looked into, or how to, any more history. Why would the government want a syncro?
