There are a few official 16"rhd syncro's.. Aidan has just rebiult a diff and box for one that the guy ordered from his local vw dealer..
Syncro's were quite costly new.. so prob not so many were made on new vehicles. But they are out there..

Oddly enough VW never made a T3 camper, Syncro or otherwise.

Officially they never made RHD 16" Syncros except, of course, for the ones they actually did.

Officially, no one knows where the last ever made LHD Syncro is.

The 'official' last LHD that is in Magna Steyr isn't the last one.

We know where the last RHD Syncro is.

VW 'dont know officially' how many Syncros were made!

My Multivan Syncro cost more back in 1991 than a Jaguar XJ6 !!

Perhaps what I meant was "All those Syncro campers you see - did they start out like that, or were they converted?"

There were plenty of motorhome buildiers back in the 80's and 90's turning out RHD T3 transporters campers. These would have left the factory as a panel van or bus, gone straight into the workshop and been outfitted as a camper before they ever saw the road. So they would be a conversion, but an original conversion.

The trouble with trying to find a syncro camper now relates to the price of a syncro when new, as paddy has illustrated above. So they are rare and difficult to find, that being said, they are out their and do come up for sale.

There are currently two for sale on the big sites.

I think because of the size of the UK RHD market verses the continental LHD market, there will be significantly less RHD campers than LHD, however this rarity doesn't seem to translate into value with uk vans going for a lot less than euro vans. A result for us then :D

Here is another example of a RHD :D

So they are out their, just need to find the one that's right for your needs. The advantage of having different coach builders producing vans, is that there are different style of interiors and roofs to choose from, so you can find the one that best suites your needs.
