Drill the holes out in the bottom bracket, kinda bodge them on like the others do.
I've seen people take the metal arm and shorten it, that improves them a bit but, if you want them right then just buy some T3 ones, they just bolt on and work and look right.

LT (folding) mirrors on a T3 just look wrong.

Would be if you bought the right mirrors
Put the LT ones up for sale and buy the proper ones, still available new.

Just to throw another option on LT/ Syncro/ truck mirrors.

Found this post last night that claims LT bottom brackets came in 2 designs - early, flat bottom bar or late - syncro style bottom bar.

It would seem that I have the early flat bar mount option rather than the later style. So next question is, can you buy a part that converts early style bottom bar to late style bracket so that holes are aligned at correct centres or should I just fill with weld and re drill.

Hello,
I'm also looking at buying some T3 truck style mirrors and with the extremely frosty mornings the heated mirrors seem a good idea, does anyone know the correct way to wire them up, is there a diagram in either (or both) the Haynes or Bentley manuals?

Thanks
Mike

Wire to heater rear screen switch, I believe the wire is white with a green trace.
Obviously check a wiring diagram.

Thanks Simon, I'll have a look in the books but I won't be getting home until late tonight so it might a few days before I get around to checking this. If I find out, I'll post an update for others.

Take a feed from the HRW switch and wire them through a relay and an independent switch

I've had a quick look in the Bentley and diagram 97.184 shows the door mirror heater elements spliced into the wire between the rear defogger switch and the rear defogger heat elements.
