Christmas Day with your van . . .

Post by max.karisma »

With all the madness of Christmas is anyone doing anything with their van on Christmas Day?

I'll be travelling to Tallacre beach, North Wales for brunch on Christmas day :) all welcome for a coffee . . .

We are making our regular (last six years) Christmas morning trip to the coast for breakfast in the Syncro followed by a coast path walk. We've previously been to Lamorna but the parking restrictions there even on Xmas day are now ludicrous* so we will probably go to Sennen.

*e.g. you can't sleep even during the day and you can't cook in the car park. Its like Lamorna has become a mini fascist state. :(

I'm guessing that wealthy incomers with second homes have taken control of local politics. They then set the rules to try and dissuade us proles from enjoying 'their' amenities and countryside. Just guessing as I've come across this elsewhere in England's green and pleasant land. Carry on and enjoy what's left of your local area before that too becomes 'privatised'.

Have a jolly day out despite them.

:ok

Thank you, hope you both have a Happy Christmas and Great VW motoring for 2014 :)

It's nice to see that others gravitate to the beach also on Christmas day but I'm holding on to the idea that my syncro takes me to places that others can't get to and so restricts them from the wild and woolly side of life that I love :)

Hope you all have great Christmas trips :D

We will be heading out to my sisters and opening presents there.

I'm hoping for some repair panels. Would it be unfestive to break out the grinder on Christmas Day?

Hi Pete,
if you do make it to Sennen Beach tomorrow morning, you will probably find us there with a few more mad people running into the sea for a refreshing start to the day!
Its a popular thing to do it seems, so if you want to get a spot in the car park, get there early!
Call us if you like, we will aim for about 9am, if you arrive later and are up the hill from the beach, text us as there is little to no reception down at sea level.
Could be a bit rough in the water..

Thanks Rich, hope you are having a good day too!
Talacre Beach Car Park was shut cos of high tides so spent the day on Barkby Beach . . . no turkey just scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with a sea view, very enjoyable with a little rock pooling thrown in with winter sun :D

Merry Christmas to all my mud loving mates and vw rovers, enjoy :)
