Re: STOLEN SYNCRO MINE
That sucks; sorry for you. There's been a rash of van thefts around my parts. What the blithering heck?
Hope you recover it soon.

If anyone's got CJ's number, he might be worth a quick call?

Re: STOLEN SYNCRO MINE
Probably already in a container and on it's way to Nigeria as we speak.
Why would you nick that truck? how could you shift it? Either it's left the country or it will be in bits.
Even some of the bits will be recognisable.

Re: STOLEN SYNCRO MINE
I have been thinking about this today. There are loads of Syncros in The Golden Triangle and could you reply to this post to help us keep our vans a bit safer Neil?
Why did they take your Doka I wonder?
If it was to make money to strip for parts then it would have been miles easier to nick any one of the other cars parked in your road and strip them and sell the parts easier. A Nissan gear box looks the same as any other Nissan gear box and easy to sell for example, I would personally rule that one out.
Where was Sally's Westy parked when your van went missing?
If it was stolen for parts, Westy bits are worth loads compared to Doka bits that again make me think it wasn't taken for parts. They want vans in Nigeria to use as taxis, a doka wouldnt be much good for that.
How did they get in, did you arm your alarm and immobilizer?
Mrs Bradey Old Lady across the road said she heard it drive off. Did you leave the keys in it? Was the alarm on?
Was it stolen for your tools? Like you said the Vindic is pretty easy to get into and it would be a lot less of a risk just to nick the tools. I doubt this too.
Stolen to get home? Well people do stupid things when drunk. 11.20pm is just after kicking out time, you have one pub near you so ask in there if anyone was totally smashed on Sunday and were in at last orders that were not from the area. You never know, could have been someone let out of the prison across the road, went out on the lash and stole your van to get back to the hood. If the keys were left in or the alarm wasnt on and flashing then it would be easy to take as its an old vehicle. In which case it is probably parked up somewhere in a street waiting to be noticed and will be returned to you in a few days. I would say this is the most likely thing to have happened, get asking.

Re: STOLEN SYNCRO MINE
been going through the facts all day in my head today. this is how yesterday paned out. sally and i went away in the camper for the night on saturday and returned on sunday afternoon. i parked the camper in front of the drive as we decided to unload it for the winter, ie removing the summer cloths, sleeping bags food etc as i am planning some to do some work on it in the coming month or so.
at about 7pm i played musical vans and moved the doka in front of the garage so i could load the van in the morning and go to work. the westy is parked 20 yards away.
the van was defiantly locked as when i left it there i always walk around and check the doors and the vindic, i have both sets of keys. there are only 2 sets mine and the spaire set in the house. the locks were all re tumbled a few months ago so there was no any key opens the drivers door.
in my head i cant see why you would choose the doka against the westy. if it was going to be stolen to order.
i am hoping it is some kind of joy ride or a ride some place like you said and will turn up in a street some where.
my fingers are crossed,
again thanks to every one who has sent a message or posted
i just want her back

Re: STOLEN SYNCRO MINE
The more I think about it the more It points towards someone just using it for transport, I am sure it will be back with you very soon and it all turns out to be just a pain in the a*** you could have done with out and you just have a broken quarter light or bust door and steering lock. I would ask down the pub though still.
