I have a lot of photos of the magma from our visit to Wolfsburg earlier in the year, some really interesting little things on the Magma.
I should post them if I get a moment.

are they 16" arches? i have to admit knowing very little about these trucks, for the picks it looks like a higher spec tri star.

I'm guessing it's a 14" syncro with 16" wheels cuz he's written that it's fitted with a speedo adapter and it has the neccessary docs for the german MOT

im thinking its a three way cross here...club joker/14" syncro/caravelle GL... bullbars not tristar most prob buddich/scandinavian
rear bars home brew diffirent diameter tube from either a tristar or jagdwagen
looks like club joker curtains and irsi joker front seats..westfalia floor carpet iorned on too the bulk head...could be tri star arches but id put my money on them being 16" arches...planks could be of a tristar(most prob robbed of the joker) as well as arches...front sunroof dosent look factory, interiour lights def not tristar....rear sliders doka not tristar (silver) not black wheels rhonal/projektzwo mirrors GL...rear seat GL...not sure about winch ...looks a little wimpy to be original ..not bad but not a magma unless youve had a stein toomany...oh incorrrct puch badge..vw stopped putting them on mid 87 onwards or there abouts.............not too mention placement perhaps a result of that one toomany :)

As far as I know it was a design study for the Tri-Star.
Built in 1987.
The arches are one-offs, they are neither posty arches, Tri-Star nor 16", they are one of their own.
I'm just digging the pictures out, I'm going to try and get them on the Brickwerks Blog shortly.
The pick up was a 15" syncro! it had 15" Atiwe alloys, same as those found on contemporary Dehler conversion.
Quite rare wheels although saying that Michael managed to find a set not that long ago.
It had other cool stuff, zip off seat covers for one.

Seen the Magma on an listing a few weeks ago, thought I recognised it. He has reduced it from 7400e, no interest then either.
Interesting to get the background and history on the Bulli. :ok

Note the MK3 Golf/T4 electric window switches and the modified Carat roof trim... I need to lie down in the dark for a while after that.
