Emailed the guy and he responded, sounds like a genuine guy.

The engine conversion and 4wd system was done by vw transporter services, can't find them on Google.

No power steering so no good for Hil, looking to replace her T4 'velle with a rhd 4 door doka.

Guess I'll keep looking........!!

Dave, if Aidan knows the guy who did the mechanical work one would assume all is well on that front.

The seller said that he replaced the load bed and outriggers and the respray so hopefully he replaced the sure to be rotten lower panels ?

Hope this helps. Baz

Thanks guys for all the help,
I have taken up Hotpods kind offer to go have a look on my behalf, it was too good an offer to miss thanks, But he contacted me earlier this afternoon saying he too was not getting through and had left a message, seems a bit strange. So we will just have to sit and wait,
Baz did he forward you any photos?
Would it be out the question to contact Simon Barnes at VW Transporter Services to get some background on the syncro??

Lets hope the guy surfaces soon

Well the man from Doncaster has twisted my arm! And very regretably im selling the Doka.Really gutted to be honest, but still have many toys left.
Im glad HOTPOD got to take a closer look because i was quite proud of the job id done and he seamed very pleased with the effort put in.
Took him for a test drive too and must say its great to see someone else's face light up when the Doka performs.
good luck Dave hope you enjoy the truck as much as my family and i did.

Remember if you find its not for you plaese let me buy it back in the new year! :ok

Well, finally the man from Doncaster has now a Syncro Doka on the driveway,
After a 4:00am alarm call (watched England capitulate) 04:30 start from Doncaster, cadged a lift to Sheffield, train out of Sheffield at 05:30 :( , Taunton @ 09:15, met Yogi,
Headed to Glastonbury test driving we found some great terrain and used it to the full, Yogi knows his stuff.
Headed North back to the centre of the universe and smooth as silk, photographed 3 times on the motorway on the way home :? , that felt weird.
Surprised the kids when I turned up as I had kept it a secret their faces were a picture ( as was the wife's!!!!) and caught the last 15 minutes of Rugby at the club for a 44 - 11 win.

On a serious note many thanks to all the people who helped make this happen, and all the people who helped along the journey I took over the last year, Those looking at trucks from Germany to Ireland from Penzance to Scotland. You know who you are and I thank you. :ok
We now have the small task of putting our mark on the Doka and Yogi they want to keep the name, so Yogi it is!!!
A good bottle of Rioja and the end to a perfect day. I'm off the bed!!!

Regards
