Can anyone weigh a standard 16" rim with a 205/16 tyre?

Well that tells me that anyone who has the 15" Mefro with a 215/75 BFG A/T or M/T should really be running 16" dampers and brakes!

I'll try weighing one of mine again now i'm back home as the scales we used up at Aidans by his own admission are dubious as to their accuracy.

Looks like Lee's are more accurate if he's quoting .1 of a kilo! When we weighed mine it was wavering between 29.5, 30, 30.5

But i imagine about 30kg is probably right

Another wheel/tyre combo to feed into the mix:

BFG AT Tri-guard 215/75/15 (light wear) on Audi 200 Ronal 6 x 15 = 23kg on the nose.

Recalling the old cyclist's adage that "an ounce off the wheel is worth a pound off the bike"...

I think that's important  And a large wheel doubly so.

Another way that brings MoI home is:-

...the mass near the centre has a negligible effect on the resistance to being accelerated rotationally.
