I am thinking about getting a syncro as my van is on its last legs. Oil pressure is really low, loads of dents, scrapes, seam rot etc, although remarkably reliable, probably because its used every day. We live up a hill in the Scottish Borders and most winters a 4x4 would be handy, this year being an exception!
I saw the advert for this van and was interested because Inverness is a reasonable distance, unlike the South of England, however for some reason I didn't like the look of it, not keen on all the plastic bits that could have anything behind them.

Anyway, does anyone have knowledge/views on another ebay van?

I like the faded paint, means it hasn't been tarted up recently, and the engine compartment looks pretty rust free. Maybe budget £1000 if the VC/diff's need refurb?

It would be really pushing my budget...
Would really prefer a tintop or poptop as it would usually be in car mode and its pretty windy up here...
Am interested in a Multivan/Caravelle because the interior of my van is the best bit, similar units to Westy/Reimo, it would be nice to keep them, partly for sentimental reasons.

So who's selling it? If it's the same guy, then it looks like perhaps Arlette got her money back, or at least some of it.

Hi Folks, Here's what's up with that piece of metal, on my side of the fence: basically, I was hoping and expecting to hand that van over to someone as a project and nothing more. I let it go at my sister's request and she sold it for £700. I took £130 to give to a charity fund and left the rest with her. The buyer paid Ian McGil to deliver. A week or so later, early Jan, Ian sent me the link to an ebay advert. I called him up, in a fierce mood I'm afraid, telling him to get the ad off ebay, and suggested that VOSA get involved again. I also offered him his money back (which now would have been at a loss to myself) as it turned out he had been unaware of the full extent of the work needing on the van. He then made an effort to straighten things out with the van in a way, that I would say was pretty genuine, and wrote later to confirm he'd done extensive welding, and left it a two wheel drive (because engine and bracket don't match) and was getting it bone fide MOT. Anyone looking at this vehicle should do what I did not, bring a proper mechanic, and possibly also get a VOSA.
