THE SYNCRO JOURNEY!

Post by Cooper »

Finally after much searching i have found a syncro!

I was told about an ad on gumtree, by a member. I looked it up and called owner.
In the end we set the price i would pay.

After some problems my dad booked a flight and went to inverness yesterday morning, met the previous owner and bought the van.
My dad then drove from inverness to hertfordshire. In one day. Left inverness at 1pm and got home last night at 12am.

So here it is:

1.9td VW syncro. its done 135,000 miles. Its a camper and RHD which is what i wanted.

I have stripped the wood seat units out and replaced them with Caravelle R n R bed.

With the help of a friend i have serviced my syncro.
Now it needs a cam belt change, New shocks and a few touch ups here and there.

Nice one.....ta :ok

This is our van interior. The bed is just 2 planks connected by a couple of hinges and is a bloomin nightmare to put up and down.....a lovely R n R would be heaven!!!!

Image

Not sure whether to put R n R hinges on what we already got, or a complete new bed :?

All depends. My van was a panel can before conversion. If you got a caravelle r n r you would need to drill holes to take some bolts and weld a plate on either side for the back rest to clip into. + with the caravelle seat/bed you can have seat belts + it's cheaper than buying a r n r bead for £400.

Loads of pictures of Coopers (aka Greenracer) R&R bed and van in her imageshack account. Some nice gents bikes youve got there too Cooper. Ive never seen a green chain on a bike before. Cool!

I think there 14's. I don't really know if there good tyres as I've never even had a t25 before.

One thing I really want to do is check if the VC is good. Prop was taken off by previous owner so I am going to re fit it once I get the nuts and bolts in and test it. Then fit bash plates and take it off road.

Dave:

Cheers I built up those bikes myself. I'm selling them to pay for van.

Dont go off road on your own Cooper, always make sure you have another vehicle with you

Nope I won't, knowing my luck I'll get stuck.

I plan on going green laning up in Wales with a few mates.
Should be fun.

With the van originating from Syncronutz, they will be 15" T4 rims.
Iain put the same on my single cab for me.
