Where to buy a hose?

Post by NeedABus »

Anyone know where I can get a new hose to connect the water pump of my 1983 1.6d to the bottom of the expansion tank?

Can't see it in the JK catalogue. It's a shaped one so just buying a length of hose and trying to repair may be a challenge.

Well, it's a specific hose to suit a specific model that was last made 16 years ago and you need it (presumably). If the last one's lasted 16+ years that's fairly durable. Unless you're planning on scrapping your van some time soon and you don't want to kill your engine you might just have to bite the bullet.

You HAVE tried GSF, haven't you?

If they don't then try Vee W Services in Bristol 0117 9418641. They're often cheaper than main dealer and have a better range than GSF and will ship around the country.

you might be able to make something up to suit with hoses/adapters from here, I've done it for other applications in my van:

http://www.nfauto.co.uk/gates.htm

could be more durable than an old pipe from a scrapped wedge....

ta for the link to the breakers, good to know of another one quite local to me, only one I know at the moment near me wants twice the going rate for most things.....
