OOGAH!

Post by Dan Wood »

Surprise gift of a Klaxon horn arrived to day. It's the red one from JK.
Just wondered if anyone else has one, and where they've mounted it - it seems a bit big to me!

Also, are these OK as a replacement horn legally, or should I add it as an 'extra'?

Just tried it on my bench power supply - It's frelling loud and my ears are bleeding! Gonna need a relay too, draws a scary amount of current!

Electrical horn is an electrical horn, it's the gas can powered thingers your not allowed to have as your only horn because they run out.

correct!! unless your vehicle is of some obscure age not applicable to our vans!! personally i'd wire it as an extra with a switch to swap the horn press on the steering wheel between the two!!

I've got one!! i've wired it up independantly though so i can choose when to use it. I fitted mine at the front next to the spare wheel carrier bolted to the chassis rail using a bracket.
