alternator/ battery light probs

Post by eightball »

right my alternator light gave up so i checked the voltage output and was giving out nothing so i got one of a seat diesel and changed the pully and fitted it on and changed the conectors on the back to the bolt on type connected it all up and is charging fine now

now the problem i have is that the battery light does not come on at all anymore when i turn the ignition to the point b4 cranking and does not even come on when i earth the wire and the battery goes flat overnight

so could it be a a duff alternator thats draining backover thats flatening the battey
if vw had intended it it go fast it would of been less square

LEDs are polarity sensitive. They only work one way round.
