Mines a Cobra. Fitted myself. Thatcham cat 1. Has all the stuff for central locking and elec windows. All you have to do is not connect cables if youve not got the gear. Tis all in the instructions.

I got a 'Wasp' alarm - shouts at people who 'might' be interfering with it.

Best alarm is remove a battery terminal I always think although I did mount a wireless nightcam in it for a while - great for watching them wave at you as they drive off in your pride and joy.....

Evening ChickenKoop by the way. I'll be over at Siddeley Ave tomorrow for the big 'roller' - come over if you're free.

I put central locking on mine Rob - good to do that first. Not too tricky and under £30.

But, seeing as you fitted it yourself, the cat 1 bit is fairly useless as unless you are an approved installer, and can send the certificate back off to the manufacturer.

That is, unless, you are an approved installer!

As far as I am aware, and if I am to believe the people who sell me alarms it only becomes a Cat1 alarm once it's fitted in accordance with Thatcham guidelines by someone who has been instructed how to fit one, and has observed fitting an alarm.

Me? I fit Laserline, Cat 1 if needed, with a certificate.
I can also fit budget alarms made by the same people under a different name to the same standard for a bit less.

Toad alarms are supposed to be good, so I have heard.
