westy leisure battery

Post by mickymole »

ok today i fitted one of those optima dual purpose batteries to my westy.now my van is a lhd diesel with the leisure battery under the drivers seat (with swivel)although it sits a bit high it just clears the swivel part and as i never turn the drivers seat it seems fine.i packed the sides with cardboard to stop it moving around and thats it,job done.now i know these batteries are expensive but its got some serious output.should help when i want to fire up the eberspacher.

i should think so, start the night heater with engine running. the leisure battery i bought is the biggest they do and i cant close the lid :? or swivel the seat :? but why would i want to swivel the drivers seat anyway? if the van had a couple more hp i could compete with nissan skylines etc (drifting) with the seat swiveled i would always be facing forward.
