Eber fuel consumption.

try it on the road fuel , the worse that will happen is it will block the filter in the pump

The guy who sells the WVO/ Diesel mixture told me that the engine would be fine but that the heater wouldn't run it. I would be interested to see if anyone has found it a problem...before I find it a problem, not saying my lucks bad but I could fall into a bath full of B**bs and come out sucking my thumb!!

try it , it could make it smoke alot , or clog the gauze filter up / burn it out ,

the best thing about having the fuel in a can is that you can run it on red / marine / free .. etc

rather than the £1 per litre road diesel

mine did not like veg oil when i was running the van on it last year, so i am back to using diesel

if you live near a canal, go to a canalboat place and buy it at half the cost.
you can't put it in the engine though

Hiya Ruby, and welcome to the club

'Red' (dyed diesel intended for heating and mobile plant use only) is essentially the same product as road Diesel known as DERV (Diesel Engined Road Vehicle) however Uncle Gordon charges duty at a much higher rate for road use so he adds a red dye and other additives to anable the nice men from Customs and Excise to detect which fuel you're using.

Trade price (on Monday) for red was 32.750 pence per litre as opposed to 73.155 ppl for DERV

no, but you can buy red diesel for your heater from a boatyard. if the cost is bothering you - - use a seperate tank for the heaters fuel.

sixsprings... i wasnt whinging about the cost of running a night heater!! someone asked about the fuel consumption of one. i have a westfalia diesel, fitted at factory with an eberspacher (diesel) why would i fit another tank? westfalia did a splendid job. however, i was whining about the cost of derv %80 tax

Thank you all for the information.

I can now make MY decision based on information and opinions freely given. Second tank, parafin, red diesel, WVO, marine, earwax whatever.

Please folks don't whinge at one another, we all have different opinions (yours and the right one

) ) if we didn't it would be a boring existance and we would all drive sand glow beige Austin Allegros with square steering wheels. NOT THAT I AM SAYING THEY ARE BORING THEY ARE JUST AN EXAMPLE
