Rock n Roll Bed

Post by Easy Tiger »

Hi y'all,
after a drunken encounter followed by a proper look - it appears that my rock n roll bed is merely attatched to the van by screws I wouldnt really trust a set of shelves to - and it looks like they are only screwed into the carpet!!!
I'm not liking that - so I was wondering what the normal form of attachment is - am I drilling holes in my van again?

cheers
John

Mine, although its not an (R+R bed) is bolted through the van into a 3" wide sheet of thick steel that runs the width of the van

If it's going to be sat on by passengers while driving it should be bolts and spreader plates at the least IMHO.

Its the seatbelts that are going to take the strain, but something stronger than a couple of self tappers is sensible not least to hold the thing securely whilst you are rocking and rolling, so why not use bolts and spreaders
