Yep there's cutting and welding involved with fitting the longer hinge.

Ah so
I have the hinge
means "I have a hinge that need lengthened and messed with"

Get on the general chat here and on BY and wherever else and ask "anyone in wherever county you're in prepared to weld my hinge for some beers/cash pretty please?"

You'll be fine.
