Clutch!..how big??

Hello all..excuse the post as i have skimmed the threads looking for the answer..poss.clutch replacement needed for my wbx 1984dg 1915cc caravelle..what size?..now, have looked gsf etc and i reckon its 228mm..altho jk has thrown me with j1038 part no. sayin 215mm..yikes!..which is it??

Could be 215mm.. But..
Most common is 228mm, my 1983, very early caravelle DG was 228mm and I know it was original engine etc.. I think only the DF/DY (low power) 1.9's had the 215mm as did the CT Aircooled 1600..
But you wont know until its out.... :(

I took me engine number down to me nice local vw dealer and asked them to match the size to the engine number which was 228mm for a 1983 dg

Ta for that!...now...have checked the engine no....hehehe oh joy Ive got 2!an old one(stamped out)and new one(recon i presume)..I take it for clutch ref. I should use the old no. ?..(which i can just about make out!)...Im assuming here....and we all now how dangerous that can be!
