Dizzy O ring? query and pics

Post by fairwynds »

My T25 (1900 DG 1985) has an O ring on the distributer shaft, I think.
The 'complete engine gasket set' I bought off JK has an odd looking O ring in it, its cross section would be like a half moon shape, flat on the inside circumference and semi circular outside edge.

The problem Ive had with the gasket set is (PLEASE note JK....?) that there are loads of gaskets but no map as to where they go, and they are NOT all obvious!

Any ideas peeps?

Is there no way of crossreferencing it with the VW part number and Bentley/ekta or something else?

The one in my gasket set [elring brand] was a 'd' shaped section as you describe, but i lost it, ordered just the dist 'o' ring from just campers, which was just a normal 'o' ring, and it seals just fine, no leaks. i since found the d shaped one! sods law. the one fitted had gone rock hard and came off in two pieces, more like hard plastic than an 'o' ring, but it was probably the original 21 yr old one :)
