carb help

Hi
i am very confused ( as usual)
i fitted a weber 32/36 to my bus (2.0 cu a/c) as i was told this was the best replacement carb for my old stock ones that sombody had taken a chunk out of the butterfly, i got some advice on a previous thread (see flat spot) but to no avail, scanning through this forum i now see perhaps the carb is not the right one.
I realise that i might be opening a oil drum full of worms, but can anybody / everybody tell me what the best carb / dizzy combo is for my bus. (mph & mpg)
please help as i'm having to drive around in a frikkin frontera until the scooberwagon is done .
ps it,s a recon engine now with less than 100mls.

use a stock dizzy and a pair of dells as the man says. (i did mine early last year.... best thing i have done to the bus!!)
then go to a rolling road to set them up properly.
i use www.raceshack.co.uk
a set up is crucial on the Aircooled engine as too lean =too hot = dead engine.

Thanks for the advice chaps.
I have'nt had a chance to read all the links yet, but will as soon as i get 5 mins.
Dells and rolling roads sound good (and expensive) so further investigation is required. like where i get cheap dells, is there a rolling road near Norfolk (potholed ones, yes!)
if anybody else has a view on this i'm listening.

ebay for 40mm or 36mm DRLA
only. as these are the downdraught type you need.
