electric hook up not working?

electric hook up not working?

right i have pluged the hookup lead into van and the into socket in house but no power in the van is it something to do with

That`s a polarity changeover unit, does what it says on the lid. That should not stop your sockets from working, unless it`s duff. It`s a case of tracing wiring right from the inlet socket to the `van circuit breaker/RCD unit (you HAVE got one of those, it`s in the foto), if you have power to that then you need to look further. It could be that the cjangover unti is duff, or wiring has become disconnected inside.

DO NOT test the wiring with the mains connected :shock:

can the polarity thing be remove so the hook up cable goes straight to circuit breaker

sorry only just notcied this post, i would have been more than happy to look at it for you at df! yes the polarity changeover could be removed and the cable wired right in to the circuit breaker!

wicked that cool will leave it in situ but wire it to the circuit breaker for now dont plan a europe trip just yet

just had another look at this and hey presto "message to self red the instructtions works fine with mains and generator have to press switch before i turn consummer on doh!!!!
