well this would not have been so rotten if they hadnt have stuck the feeble skin on, but anyhow
there wasnt any real need to fit this, and note they have cleaned the seam out a bit and just migged it there
soon be gone
nearly the same this end
vans getting lighter
now for some more accurate cutting back to good steel
and yet another inner jp

sales thing some years back i expect ?? its history now,
been busy stripping the lot out, glass, door,s clips ,all of it
seen much worse biut the usual rear corners will come off and new made and added
had to use some good heat as well as stuff had been mullered in the past as was seized solid
im erring of fitting the good repro rear arches and i know there are nasties in the seam i figure i will make some new wing bottoms to retaiun much of the original which is in very good order, this way we retasin nice seams as well. now for the parts list.......

I've often seen you make up a batch of repair panels such as sill closures and sill kits, and pass some on to others making the same repair.
If you are using the good archs as in the VW shape panel with inner arch, and making up a panel to repair the area emmediately above and in front of the arch
with the return lip to meet the arch, I would be very interested.
I don't like the look of the tall panels that are available that just reproduce the shape of the seam.
In an ideal world, something that went from the sliding door with the lowest swage included, and above the arch by an inch or two would be brilliant,and fill a hole in whats allready available. I can see that it would be rather difficult to make in one piece as it has a lip and a curve.
If theres rust in the seam, then there is more than likely damage to the upper lip aswell. I've done one side and repaired the top lip in places, but I'm not happy with it, and can see me redoing it in the future.
Does that make any sense?

Yes perfect sense and I concur ,in this instance I will hand make ad needed o think bit as I too am sick of the tall pattern stuff when only the lower area is needed then o will be giving itvsome thought

Hi,
My front panel isn't too bad and only needs the bottom 2" repair panel- have you got any tips on removing the old layer thats welded to the deformation panel? It's really awkward to get at and remove the old inner lip.
