There's plenty of cable, but you will have to disconnect the pipe at the fridge.
Pull the fridge out just enough to get a spanner on the nut.
It's fiddly.
Don't lose any parts of the flue that you disconnect first after removing the large vent.

here you go, save waiting , i do them several different ways but all roughly along these lines

Well need to be cracking on with removal of furniture or else I am not going to use it this year. Fridge out

Hunting the hidden screws. Still all seems a bit immovable. Can the right hand wardrobe be separated from rest as I can't see me taking out as one piece.

Sorry my postings seem a bit random. I am failing to upload pics from computer (says wrong format) and clearly not doing too well with phone either. So until I master the system it will be written posts from computer and pics via phone.

The area behind the fridge was very wet inside so am anticipating rust has gone further than I would like. Removal of the side vent exposed more rust.

How is the wooden floor fitted? is it a question of peeling back the carpet to get to some screws.

Next few pics show the top screws in the wardrobe (and my bald spot) and the rust on the vent.

Unless I find some more screws I am going to have to work on the assumption that as its not moved in 24 years I will need to apply some brute force with a wrecking bar ....

Start by removing the overhead locker above the bed, then the wardrobe and finally the rest in one piece.
The screws are few but well placed

What a journey of discovery. Unfortunately am still on the journey.
The rear cupboard eventually came out as a separate piece. There are 3 screws along the horizontal that fix it to the top of the long units.
The main challenge was that it has to come back about 1 cm to clear where it is recessed in the trim. This cant happen as the edge closest to the window is recessed as well which stops it sliding back - along with the rear door rubbers. I ripped off the trim and then found I could have lifted the small shelf alongside the window which is attached by 4 panel pins. The rear curtain rail also had come off.
Probably makes no sense and pictures dont make it clear but knowing the order in which it was put together would have helped.

The voyage of discovery continued with me finding the false panel in front of the water pump. Which will allow me to remove the water pipe (currently solid but will warm up with a little boiling water) It took a little longer to find the removable panel next to the heater. I had been trying to disconnect the gas pipe through the vent hole and was probably never going to succeed. The panel is screwed in from the heater side so still a bit of a fiddle. 2 small screws. This then gave me clear access to the heater pipe and also the discovery of a little bracket on the front of the cabinet (well hidden) that was holding the units in place. Have only found this bracket and a screw through the wood in the gas compartment.
However still no real encouraging signs of major movement. The unknown is how heavy it is, but am assuming wimp that I am I should still be able to make it move.

Again knowing the order of things might give me a clue on dismantling.

My intention was to tilt the units away from the window but a recess in the ply sides against the van metal restricts the tilt.


My second thought was to slide out away from the window but the left hand cupboard for the gas bottles has a plastic tray with a sump that is impeding that action but will try removing some of the sealant to see whether this can enable me to slide it away.


The final hurdle (assuming I can find what is still stopping the unit from coming out) is at the rear the corner is tucked neatly into a carpeted raised metal plate at the engine end and I am failing to lift it up to clear this.

Failing that I am still missing some fixing points.

The good news is that I have mastered the art of posting

A new day and daylight so rechecked and no obvious screws so resorted to a bit of force

Popped the back corner out and pulled rear away from panel side.

Then lifted the front end slightly and slid a steel rule around the floor to check for snags. The plastic sump is nailed or screwed from the underside so options were either to saw through or lift above the floor.

Went for option 2 but may still cut out before moving to avoid damage.



Now puled clear of side panel and all wires disconnected (Heater motor)



Now just need to wait for my back to recover before removing.

I suspect that you know whats coming .....
Just been reading your thread "Sunnivagon" , very inspirational and am hoping I will have slight less wire worm but have already poked through in a couple of places. The wooden floor is rotten so imagine the rust will be more extensive than I would like.
Will post some pics tomorrow.

Each lift of carpet exposes more rust. Not looked at post behind drivers side but the next one back B post? has rust on the inner seam but hoping reasonably solid.



Currently awaiting muscle to help lift out the units and then will lift the floor.

Units out, carpet up and a light wire brush to expose the damage
