Syncropendence 2019 many thanks

Post by crazydiamond »

Well what a great weekend that was. As always many thanks to Jenny and Clive for there organisational skills. A big thanks to Aidan for the loan of a LHD gear stick after my RHD gear stick came off in my hand in the mud hole!!! Bit strange driving home fumbling around looking for the gear lever and finding Jaynes knee!!

Also big thanks for all who setup and ran all the events , brilliant, sorry I couldnt do the trailer reverse but lack of tow bar is a bit of a handicap! Heres to the next event to catchup with all the Syncronauts old and new.

Whats next....CamperJam next week for Syncro excperience. Just hope I get the RHD gear stick fitted by then.

I second that Geoff.
Out of all the hugs, Jayne smelled the best!Could not have been better (maybe a little less breezy so the bigger kids could brave the water on Sat evening? Brrr!)
Excellent turn-out and great to meet some new syncronauts. The nightmares will fade Sophie, just get behind the wheel and have a go ;)
So glad that I was there and could be vaguely useful, I now feel a lot better in so many ways.
Cheap therapy!

PS Apologies if I missed anyone when saying goodbye, no offence meant as I did try to catch everyone without exception.
Special thanks to Lee, Sophie, Josh, Peter and young James for the rides.

Parachute teepee was a victim of last-minute brinkmanship, but I will be back with a big "bender" to make it work!

Excellent weekend and the weather was pretty kind thankfully, thanks to everyone who came and as usual made it a great Syncro family weekend, as to all those who said they would be there but didn't come well you were missed again, so same weekend next year, be there or be square, sort out your vans, your passouts from the family or better still bring them along, same time same place, last weekend in June that's 27/28 June 2020, put it in the phone diary now with a reminder set for January when you mark up the new calendar on the fridge so you can be sorted :ok

and for 2021 book a week afterwards for a mega adventure TBA

Thanks to everyone,
I must make a formal complaint though,
its just not long enough!
All that space to play in, beautiful campsite,
two trials, difficult punch hunt, trailer towing competition, and so on..
Do not fit into one day easily.
Could be a few days or at least the option of.
Gratitude whatever..
Great to meet everyone.

Well.. what an experience for our first time off roading. We weren’t really sure what to expect. It was great to meet everyone and the location was spot on. There is vast amount of knowledge amongst everyone about the syncro and driving off road. Thanks to all the folk for giving us tips and advise, it was much appreciated. Cheers Ian for showing us he ropes the first morning. It may have been a different kettle of fish otherwise!
See you all next time.
Cheers
Lee and Sophie

I seem to recall someone saying "we'd really like you to accompany us today" :D
My pleasure, try to share the driving next time out. I think syncronauts need a ladies offroad team eh Sharon ;)

Really sorry to have not got there (again), did get halfway this time.
Fortunately we stopped in serves the station on the M4 and noticed oil on under the van, turns out to be my gearbox oil,
gears seem to be OK so hopefully no damage however I was not going to drive it any further so home on the AA truck.

Would have been quicker if the person at the AA control hade believed what I said instead of sending a van patrol first.
Vans now with Doug awaiting space on the ramp as to remove the gearbox requires dropping the whole engine out, something I hope to rectify asap.
Thanks, Clive for your help on the Phone, and glad you all seem to have had a good weekend we will get to Syncropendance one day hopefully, next year third time lucky.
