Saturday night at Camperjam

Post by Bucketbabe »

After the success of last year's communal meal, it's been decided to do it again.
Just bring some food to share with the group, but please post up what you intend to bring to avoid too much duplication. There is no theme, just do what you like, hot or cold, mains, sides or dessert, it's all good.

I'll set the ball rolling with a medium beef curry, if anyone fancies bringing rice or mini naans that would be great. Looking forward to seeing you all.

The Syncro guys have their own area by the quarry, I think there's a dozen or so vans going. I'm sure you'll be welcome, especially if you're clutching a cyclone trap....

We are doing off road demo drives again this year too.

Hi there,

great...love the communal meals - 'such fun!'

Anyhoo......I'll make a mild chicken curry - thinking Kids & those that are fearful of hot things (this will be gluten-free) . Will also do some rice but may not have capacity to make enough so will defo need a few more offers on that front.

See you next week,

Kirsty (hacking David's account again!) :ok

I have flight clearance to take our big casserole off-site, so I'll do another big pot of rice (and start cooking a tad earlier than at AO 2015...)

Howdy!
Right, I very much doubt we will get the opportunity to prepare anything for the feast on saturday night im afraid... Having a 5 month old daughter is harder than we thought! ha ha!
Sam was talking about doing her low carb curry but i think we might be curried out by the looks of it...
I will no doubt do a barbecue (as we cannot contribute to the communial meal), and im sure there will be a few extra sausages and pork chops going if anybody wants one!
Im happy to buy and cook extra meat if we think it will get eaten? Pork strips/chops? lamb chops? sausages? burgers? chicken?
Anyway, let me know if you think its worth it.
thanks

That's wonderful, thanks guys. I must admit, one of my favourite parts of our events is sharing good food with great company.
Don't forget, it doesn't need to be a hot main course, everything is welcome. Salad, bread, crisps and nibbles, cheese and biscuits, dessert.....anything.

Bene, why not bring something easy and shop bought and save yourself the trouble of barbecuing?

Looking forward to seeing you all :D

The communal meal gathering is great and I will be going for the slightly easy option this weekend, so I have on board bags of mini pappadums, jar of mango chutney, jar of raita, spicy cous cous, sour cream, spicy bean salad & melon (sorry none are homemade). Looking forward to catching up again :ok

That's brilliant Max, thank you. Nothing need be homemade by anyone, it's just good to get together.
The raita and sour cream may be very welcome, I took my "medium" spicy beef curry out of the aga after a nine hour slow cook tonight. Had a small sample to check......  Quite a bit spicier than I expected!

Then again, we all know I'm a total wimp, maybe it's not that bad
