Mendipidy - The aftermath (or should it be apocalypse)

Just got back after a flying visit to Mendipidy. Hope the weather is better in the Mendips for those who are laning today than it is in Cornwall!

I can report that Rich and Lee made it in the end and were able to erect Caernarfon (spelling?) Castle and have a hog roast in the evening.

Had a great time yesterday and able to shake down the new 025MOTORSPORT built 2.5WBX which is going just great and which Ian and Neil had a go in. It was great to see the pleasure on Ian's face after all his hard work on developing this engine - definitely worthwhile. The engine itself is so sound and the power increase is pretty phenomenal but I'll post more about that on the proper thread later. Thanks particularly to Ian, Neil and Nick for help with sorting out inevitable snags after having had so much work done.

Also had a drive of Neil's DOKA - what a well sorted vehicle that is. It not only goes well but stops on a sixpence and handles like its on rails. BMW servo is a must!

Had a good day at West Harptree with as much catching up with old friends and making new ones as driving and then a good evening round the fire as well.

The new campsite is also very nice and a big improvement although I would happily have gone back to the old one personally. At least its handy for Patrick!

Big thanks to Patrick, Mark and Rich for the organisation and not forgetting Jenny and Clive for the behind the scenes stuff as well.

Another great - if chilly - syncronauts weekend. Minmal spanner action and plenty of social ;)
A few pics to start us off...
Conditions were challenging. Manpower worked where machine assistance was not possible:

Well, back home and managed to dodge the heavy rain.

Had a great weekend organising with Mark and Rich and navigating. A small but perfectly formed group had loads of fun driving and socialising.

I didn't take a single photo, so please do post up your pics and videos. We had some cracking lanes on Sunday with some impressive wheel waving on show.
Glad to say The Pipe lane has been driven, it's been taunting me for 6 years since it defeated me!

Special thanks to Tinium who sacrificed his 12v power splitter so the lead vehicle had CB and navigation aids.

One ask from me - Having seen again how the AGG is mounted in GaryD's truck, I'm after the two rounded triangle mounts with spacers and the three bolt holes, those that the rear end of the engine bars bolt to the inner rear valance. Anyone breaking a Diesel or TD and can grab those for me that'd be much appreciated.

Yep, thanks to everyone for organising/navigating/cooking when I ran out of gas... A great weekend, very much enjoyed myself, and always good to put more faces to names. Can't wait to see any piccies/videos that were taken. The Gas Pipe lane certainly was, er, "exciting" for a newbie! :D

Now just to sort out the diary for Syncropendence and Camperjam :)

What a great weekend, even though I didn't have a Syncro with me.

Many thanks to all who organised and to those that gave me a lift.

Here is a link to Mark giving a masterclass on how to attack Pipe Lane, excellent bit of driving. :D :D

Thoroughly enjoyed again. Big thanks to everyone who put the effort in to make it happen. It seems like the last time I could get to an event was far too long ago. Looking forward to syncropendance and meeting up again. Lee

Excellent weekend again with something for everyone.
Practice at the quarry on Saturday and some interesting lanes on the Sunday.
Thanks to Patrick and Mark for organising and I won't forget the pipe in a hurry.
Will try to download some photos but unfortunately they have been taken in soft focus so look a bit arty!
Big thanks for another great weekend. :ok

Haha Baz.. Mark's front locker is always broken.
Shame that doesn't show the gradient.. quite steep as well as the big gas pipe.

Big thanks to Patrick, Mark, Rich Jenny and Clive for organising etc, had a great time saturday, pity I couldnt make the laning, but looking at Marks video, without my diff locks I would have struggled, but love driving without them. The water leak temp fix is still working, so the only damage is front n/s bumper cap and loads of mud!! Spent monday morning de-mudding!!
Elvis, those Kumho A/T's work really well, very impressed with 22/24psi they cleaned really well.
