Offroad weekend at Drumclog

Post by meladean »

Offroad weekend in Bonnie Scotland
We have booked a weekends camping and offroad driving at Drumclog from 11th - 13th September.
This is a massive area with every feature imaginable and will test your Syncro and driving to the limit or you can just pootle around the site, the choice is yours.I would advise bringing recovery kit with you as it can get very muddy and at some point you will get stuck..
If you want to come along for a day or the weekend please PM me so i can get an idea of numbers.
Costs are £25 per driving day, camping is free (bring some wood for the fire)!

That place is Epic, we went last year on the way up to the Glen Coe Mountain rescue event. If you follow the river there are some nice crossings and tricky little sections that are quite fun to drive.

Bloody hell, he did a proper job of that  Did the fuel tank get water in it?

At 7.59 onwards in this video is when we visited last year and it shows some of the river further up that we drove. It did get quite deep in parts but was fun.

As far as i am aware they got the bus up and running again by taking the glow plugs out and towing the van around while in gear to empty out the water. Don't think any water got into the tank. :ok

Jed looks like you had some fun with the river crossings. :D

Really good weekend at Drumclog and blessed with the weather.

The vans got a really good work out and both suffered some scratched paint and missing body parts 5 end caps and 2 bent bumpers to be precise.

We didnt shy away from anything!

If you have never been there before you need to make an effort and get there, it is a really testing place and pushes your van and yourself to the limit.

Have a look on the 80-90 Syncronauts Facebook page for a couple of snippits and this link on YouTube for a quick video of the Beastie off roading for the first time with its novice owners.

I have about 3 hrs of footage to go through before i can put a video together so bare with me.

See you next time maybe?? :ok
