Well, the Syncro related element this year was great.

Obviously there is always room for improvement and I am certain Simon, Mike and everyone involved are committed to making it better.

Busfest would be a great venue, but the plans and practicalities are of course something to be discussed.

Here is a suggestion... or 2..

Linking syncro events together.. try and stir up a bit of interest and see if several countries can get an event together.. then peeps can choose a couple or 3.. ok.. smaller scale individualy but that makes it more managable.. but maybe the different groups would feel more involved with a europe wide set of events..

Or.. plan a good road trip..
Yes.. needs comitment and isnt gonna be cheap.. but it might be a once In a lifetime for some...
I spent 3 weeks in croatia.. what a place.. should be able to organise (have some contacts that can ask) a large section of forest for some tracks, mud and challenges for playtime.. and plenty of routes to tour in the country.. loads of different stunning scenery.. can even arrange 10 day offroad trail for those wanting that.. (limited number tho I am afraid and extra cost but I have a contact for the tours) Or something similar... and passing right by Graz so ought to be able to arrange a visit surely....
Can link this to other Euro meets on the way down too..

To increase numbers and maybe give the event a unique selling point, why not involve the pinz and haflinger clubs? Anything offroad with a tie to VW, I'm sure there is a few kubel, shcwimm and iltis owners who would love to get involved?
If it was held down south, there is a motor museum in the new forest, and don't pinz have a factory in Guildford somewhere.

I wonder if it's possible to get access for able/ capable drivers/ vehicles to the landrover test course at Eastnor Castle - it might be a good enough reason with a camping weekend for people to want to attend? They already have a campsite there, although toilet facilities would need to be brought in, and as lloydy suggests we could perhaps combine it with a Pinz/ Halflinger treffen.

If it was done as a joint club event, i.e. 80-90/brick-yard/syncronauts/uk-whoever combined, rather than as a show then the pressure would be reduced in terms of trying to turn it into Busfest and it would be easier to keep a handle on numbers. An invitation could also be extended to other clubs in Europe to attend i.e. allocating them a number of pitches if they want to pre-book/ pre-pay to help fix numbers beforehand. No need to put on any stands/ events/ stalls unless clubs or individuals want to arrange them. etc.

Keep it casual basically.

On a similar line..

Has anyone asked the people who have organised any of the other Syncro anniversary events if they have any plans?

At least they would already have a basic frame work set up from past experience at the very least.

I went.. and was pre syncronized (well.. I had got it and it was in the barn undergoing surgery)

The french had it quite well organised.. on a big play site.. then each day we had laning out in different groups.. not everyone drove..
A little more controled than the average syncronauts event as they didnt know who was gonna turn up really..

Hi Guys,

Just so that you are in the picture. :ok

It has already cropped up in this thread but yes, we are already planning to do something (more) Syncro wise @ Busfest 2015 for Syncro30.

From a display point of view @ Busfest it will (probably) be another aerial pic this time in "Syncro Text" in main arena (similar to DOKA50),. We will also be extending the Syncro Trail & other activities

BUT, (if you are familiar on our Syncro Trail) you will be interested to know that we will ALSO (from next year 2014) be developing a whole new play area for 4wd & Syncros we have located at another site, which will then become another Busfest event venue in itself during next year/2014 (with a view to hosting an international 4x4 event in 2015 (which just may/will) coincide with Syncro30 anniversary.)

The venue itself is perfect, open & wooded land, water splashes, mud & very impressive hillclimbs & banks which can be modified to suit. But more to the point it can accomadate up to 500 (or more) camping/vehicles which is why we are interested in developing it into a venue for 4wd & Syncro's.

It is in the early planning stage (and under wraps stage) at the moment, but if you guys are serious about wanting to have/host an International Syncro30 specific event in the UK and are prepared to give it the support it needs then we (already) have the venue and the means to produce & put one on (and will be doing so if we can get things moving next year)

Simon

Yes! I have been in contact with Henning but he doesn't seem very enthusiastic. His circumstances have changed of course so maybe he doesn't have the appetite for something as large as this. I'm sure he would be able to advise, if asked, any group who took this on. There is a lot of info on the old Syncro 25 website so maybe Jenny could open it up if it is switched off

If any of you (In all Seriousness), would like to see the new area we are going to be developing as part of next years Busfest SYNCRO TRAIL (& also as a possible site for a SYNCRO 30 years International meeting) come along and see us at next weekends Busfest BONAWEEN (26-28th Oct) event which is very near to the site.

:ok

Info on the Busfest BONAWEEN event is here; http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=123027" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone who was at Syncro 25 will know that to equal or better the venue will be some job.

All Syncro 25 profits (excess income actually) went to charity.. this was discussed and agreed with Henning and Dina beforehand and transparent afterwards.

Bear in mind that a lot of Euros get concessions for Busfest. We gave no concessions for S25, how many would cross the Channel for a separate event... ?

The Mammut Park site & facilities were large and good... the off roading bit was P&P pistes and IMHO not really suited to the vehicles and a bit 'processional' for numbers...

There were some great places to visit but the timings, info and arrangements were not ideal for quite a few groups that chose to do it.

Would the Busfest offroading scale up sufficiently well if lots came?
Would half enough come?
Agree strong trader support necessary
Agree green laning out of the question
Well co-ordinated guided trips/visits might be worth arranging.

A Syncro 30 website could be started with a forum of National Organisers like last time.. We may be able to revive the S25 site but pain might be involved. Not much point probably...

Avoid too many cooks... :-)

Still got thinking cap on... :|
