Van security

Hi all,
What sort of wheel and/or pedal locks (or anything else) do you recommend for a T25?

There are a few topics on this somewhere on the forum, I have fitted an old Moss security system on mine, flashing LED, ignition immobiliser, shock sensor, door opening alert, and remote fobs, bought second hand on ebay and easy to fit, some go the hole hog with trackers etc, all I can say at least mine will slow them down if not make them give up and move on.

Most people have a combination of different types, usually a very visible physical security device such as a good steering lock or pedal lock, alongside less visible measures such as an immobiliser and/or tracker.

I have a visible lock on the steering wheel and a hidden switch which which I installed that cuts the 12V supply from the ignition switch to the coil. It is easy to do and totally stops the engine from starting. Because it is hidden and not advertised, then any thief would not know to look for it! The lock on the steering wheel is the actual visual deterrent but I am sure any good thief can get most security devices off in a matter of seconds!

I'm loving the simplicity of this solution!
Are there any guides anywhere that go over how to do this?

According to my Haynes manual, the wire from the ignition switch to the coil is black and is attached to ignition switch terminal 15. All you need is a reliable on/off switch. I used a good quality push/pull automotive type. Just cut the wire and extend it if needed to a good location for the switch.
****Remember that if the switch fails or the wires come off you will stop so make sure all connections are properly done.****

Just a bit of advice from somebody who doesn't follow his own, make a note of any electrical alterations regarding interruption of power supplies or any other areas regarding alarm systems or security in case you come unstuck one day trying to fathom out or narrow down why the van will not start.
