Hi, using a Facet fuel pump on a CU motor, standard Solex twin carbs.  Do I need a pressure regulator?  If so, which one?

Yes , any will do , malipassi etc , just not the cheapest , get an adjustable one

Depends on which pump pressure it is? 1.5-4 psi no need, 4-6psi you need a reg.

Think it might be 4-6, but I have a 1.5-4 as well.  Enough for the CU?  Next question: I'm missing the rubber collar that sits between the air filter box and the engine tinware, warm air intake I presume?  Know anyone who can supply?

Which Malpassi regulator would you recommend?

Fit the 1.5-4psi pump then, it pumps the same volume of fuel as the higher pressure pump just at lower pressure.

I have fitted the 1.5-4psi pump with no regulator and it is seems to be running fine.

Thanks for info, folks.  I've decided to fit a new mechanical pump and pushrod.  All now working beautifully, both Solexes tuned and behaving exactly as the book says.  I'm going to keep a Facet, filter and pressure regulator in the van, and leave the wiring in place just in case of failure.  This is a summer-driven car only, so wear shouldn't be an issue for some years.  The reason for a new mechanical pump with in-built regulator is to safeguard flooding the carbs as the needle inlet valves are notorious for leaking too much fuel into the bowl even when new.  While the engine fires beautifully whatever, economy will suffer.  And I do like the fact that the output from the pump is dependent on the rpm of the motor, I'm not keen on the electric pumps sending full pressure the whole time even when idling for the needle-valve reason previously mentioned.
