Hi all, I am trying to find out the tow capacity of my T25?
As stated its a 1.6L, 1991 Westy and the engine is in the boot. I want to be able to tow a caravan weighing 750kgs.

1) is that beneath the allowed tow capacity?
2) If the tow capacity is fine, is it a problem towing if the camper van has a rear engine?

Thank you, I cannot find the answers anywhere, Claire

Generally speaking, the maximum weight a T25 with a decent towbar and a 1.6TD engine can tow is 600kg for an unbraked trailer, or 1500kg for a braked trailer.

However some cheaper towbars are not as robust as others, and may have a lower weight limit. There should be a metal plate / tag attached to your towbar which indicates the maximum trailer and nose weight capacity for your van with that specific towbar fitted. You should have no problem towing because of the rear engine, but you should try to keep your trailer weight and noseweight within those plated limits.

If you don’t have the owners manual for your van, which has most of this info in it, then you can download a PDF copy from the WestfaliaT3 website
