Help t25 won't start

Post by kei.reynolds »

Hi there this is my first post so apologies if I've done anything incorrect.

I drove to work today and at lunch time I decided to go to the shop to get some food but the van would not start. This is my second week of driving about 25 miles a day after not needing to drive for about 2 months. Its a very wet day by the way.

So it turns over, battery is fine, I have half a tank of fuel, I cleaned the carb and my mate used easy start to rule out problems with that. There is a spark although it is a bit weak. Rotor arm spins fine, even moved the position of the dizzy to see if the alignment was out but didn't change anything.

We reckon the dizzy might be knackered or coil has packed up but just wanted to ask people's opinions.

Please could someone help. My van is a 1990 1.9 watercooled petrol t25.

Thank you.

K

Moving the dissy was a mistake unless you marked before you moved .....
Settings of things do not just move .

It’s a back to basics thing ,
Spark at the right time in the right place ,
Fuel and air .
