Front to back pipes.

Post by maxstu »

I have two genuine VW plastic coolant pipes. Im not classing them as new. Yet they both seem barely used. Im thinking of selling on here. But dont want to mis-advertise. So trying to correctly identity.

Pipes l have are 251121397L and 251121399M

From a website l have found the following information listed below. However, how comes the first pipe 251121397L is Syncro only. Yet a third pipe, at bottom, 251121397M fits 1.9 2.1 and Syncro.

Surely this means the first pipe described (ending 397L) will also fit 2 wheel drive 1.9 2.1 and diesel?

Regards
Stuart

397L is a Syncro feed both wbx and TD
399M is a 2wd wbx return

both late, ie 1986 model year on

your other source seems to be indicating that suffix M can be used on a Syncro if you change or add a water hose N 902 873 03, I'm guessing that's from an American source as they are using hyphens instead of spaces - they may well be right, without having the two pipes and a hose to hand to compare it's difficult to know for sure
