T25 Security Locks

Post by syncro4us »

We have been looking at upgrading the extra security for our T25 Syncro Van and have been looking at
locks that you can self install. Ford Transit have a good system with metal plates for the sliding door that mate up and can be locked from the outside with a padlock as the locking systems available are all for modern vans from 2000 onwards it seems.
Our T25 is from 1986 so we would appreciate if anyone can suggest a system that is both Easy to use and discrete.
There are peddle locks, steering wheel lock, wheel locks, electronic Central Locking, etc all of which we have either tried or seem so cumbersome or expensive that we really want to have simple extra locks to stop the rear tailgate, side and front doors from being opened which the standard VW key which seems a bit out of date now.
Does anyone make a system like the transit that has two metal plates that bolt to various parts that when the door closes mate up with flanges that stick out and can then be locked by a padlock.
I have considered long reach dead bolts types but you have to cut holes in the doors, body work, D pillars etc to work but is anyone making anything for T25 VW camper vans?
Thanks
Kevin
