Removing tree sap from awning?

Post by huggy76 »

Has anybody got any tips for removing tree sap from an awning please.

I got some big lumps of it on the awning after staying in the New Forest.

Thanks

Tree sap is usually excreted via Aphids and contains lots of Sugary compounds which is why ants "milk " them.
Fungal moulds readily grow on sugary compounds so clean off as suggested with soapy water before the sometimes black fungal hyphae grow into the material and can never be removed.

Try rubbing alcohol based hand cleaner into it. I would re-proof the area afterwards as well.
Don't eat yellow snow.
