I'm thinking of having the chassis on a Westy trailer I'm tarting up (restoring ) galvanised as this was the original finish. I am unsure of the process and how it works, is it possible to re-galvanise something that's already been done and Should the parts be blasted first to get a reasonable finish?
If anybody on here could recommend somewhere that does small quantities that would be much appreciated as well

Re: Galvanising
well i htought you were going to say the van
nah , just strip it down, and as its been galv'd then there should be drain holes in all closed sections (if you ever build something like this make sure you add 6mm holes for the galv to enter exit,if not they will drill where THEY see fit, often on the upper/seen surface)
they immerse in a tank and do all that so no need for you to touch it,
most if not all places have a minimum order weight , round here its £80+vat for either 1 tin can or a hundred as they dont mix consignments.

Re: Galvanising
Places around us charge about 50 p a kg.
As mm says.....the pretreatment process eats away anything unsavoury.

Re: Galvanising
I used to use a galvanizers in Witham when I used to get boat stuff done - I can't remember the minimum weight though. They were just off the A12 so easy to get to.
