If letting a bit of air out of the tyres is enough to get it in the garage do that but make sure they're inflated again as soon as it's in the garage or the tyre sidewalls will crack.
Don't completely deflate them though as that will also knacker the sidewalls.

Alternatively fit smaller wheel/tyres with the same pcd of 5X112...and a MIni isn't!

Push it in on rims alone?

some old steelies and a bit of old carpet in order not to scratch the concrete floor ...that's what I'd do

Surely summer is just starting in NZ? What are you doing putting it in a garage?

I thought all garages in NZ looked like this one?

No definitely NZ, the "garage" in the photo is up by Hot Water Beach. I forgot Nelson was a posh town with proper garages  Any chance you could pop into Bloody Big Burger and see if they'll do a delivery to "Old" Plymouth? :D

Right, to get back to your orignal post. I'd only put it in the garage on bare rims if its flat enough to be able to push it in and out easily. If you try to drive it out the rims would probably cut through the carpet & the concrete. Try to get some spare wheels with crap tyres & just keep a few psi in them to keep the bead on the rim and ditch them before you get the van WOF'd.

Cut the springs?
Anyone who cuts coil springs these days should not be allowed anywhere near a van and all of his tools should be confiscated!! :D :D

How would your insurance company respond to this? If you were describing the modification as it isnt factory standard, aftermarket springs from a reputable company that offer a one year warranty and improve handling for better road safety will sound better surely?

A lowering spring will be shorter than a stock spring when unloaded, and will have a higher (stiffer) spring constant as well.

A cut stock spring will also be shorter (obviously), but unlike the lowering spring it will have a spring constant which is likely not significantly greater than before cutting. If the spring was cut using a method which caused the spring to heat up significantly, the spring constant may actually be lower than before it was cut.

and so bottoming out will be more likely
