Big tyres on small rims...

Post by glennada »

Hello all,
I need to replace tyres and want to go Synchro Style.
Was thinking about these...

https://www.maxxis.co.uk/catalog/tyre-5 ... ve-at-980e  27 x 8.5 r14 95Q
https://tyresdirectuk.co.uk/products/27 ... axon_id=96

Has anyone used these, will they fit in standard T25 arches, will they take the load or explode (rated @ 690KG) or should I be looking to bigger rims and tyres ?

Any opinions will be appreciated.

Cheers.

They do a higher rated set which are more expensive, I have a set of general grabbers on my standard height Westy which are the same 27x8.5x14 and just had to remove the mudflaps

Cool, Will have a look for the Grabbers.
Still looking at the german ebay for 15" rims too just in case, there's much more choice for 15 inchers.

How do you tell you`ve got the right the load rating on the Merc steelees ?
