I think these new Mini wheels might fit. Help / advice please

Post by 1980Xplorer »

Hi guys, I have found these wheels going for a song and think they might fit with no issues - what’s you’re thoughts? They are brand new for £20 a wheel.

They are Mini 15” wheels 5x112 with 66.5 centre bore and 46 ET offset with 14mm bolt mounting.

Only issue is I can’t find any details on load rating and the mini is well a slip of a thing!

Think they would look well on the van.

Thanks guys!

I very much doubt the load rating would be right for a T3.

Cant see a mini ( even the big fat ones which should have at least been called maxi) having a corner weight anywhere near that of a vw commercial van .

Think the heaviest latest generation Mini is around 1700Kg.

Unladen T25 circa 1450kg, but laden or a heavy conversion could be pushing 2000-2300kg, iirc.

With an Et of 46 you’d likely need a 10-15mm spacer.

Should have said, most will be considerably less. I’m only making an assumption that the wheel in question is suitable for all the later generation models but could easily be wrong.

Thanks everyone, yes it’s definitely going to weigh a lot less don’t know if there’s anyway to find out the load rating. They are from the new generation mini after 2015.

Nothing stamped on the wheel and apparently BMW haven’t released any data on them?

Thought it might be too good to be true, with no way of knowing just gonna have to park that idea

you might find the data if you can find the wheel part number and search the TUV data.

Thats what i did with my Merc wheels :ok

PS youll never get the front grease cap short enough on those without using at least 18mm spacers

If I recall correctly the recommended corner load rating for a T25 wheel is at least 900kg, i.e. more than half the weight of the heaviest Mini, so I think it's unlikely that those wheels are going to be rated for that.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

Looks like I’m stuck with the moonbeams for now. I think it’s a sign, I do like them!

Other option I saw was some Porsche Cookie Cutters but low ET of 23, might post about them separately to see.

Thanks all.
