any one know of a source for 15" 0r 16" steels? with metros no longer a option
I got a set of 16" alloy merc Vito van wheels but with a et of 50 these will need a lot of spacing to get the clearance on the inner suspension and I am not sure I want to do that unless someone is running similar without issues ? any help or if anyone has a set they want to shift? thanks

Vito wheels will probably also not have a sufficient weight rating for a syncro.

Surely the Vito is a similar weight to T25?

A syncro should not have rims rated lower than 800kg load each min. For an syncro with all the extra camping and bolt on stuff most fit it should be higher. A Vito is a light duty 2wd van not a 4wd vehicle that can have its weight thrown arround onto its rims. In reality there are not many rims out there that are legaly suitable for a syncro. Not even the popular Audi A8 winter alloys are suitable as their load rating in under 700kg per rim.

there both rated to 3500 and are similar gvw within a few kilos, a Vito with its full payload is considerably heavier than a t3 with say a camping interior, I agree that the wheels are not designed for 4x4 work but as there is literally no one making a rim that will fit that is rated there has to be a compromise somewhere. unfortunately my original rims are structurally unsound. I have been looking into defender/disco series two wheels as there rated to 1000kg per rim with either machining hubs or using adapters. as there are loads of options for them around.

you can still find 15" and 16" Mefros in Germany but the price of the last remaining stock have gone up a bit; some sellers have now got an alternative AMW brand in, I don't know the load rating of those
Why Mefro stopped production of 15" and 16" I don't know, you can still find the 13" and 14" versions, maybe there is no longer a pcd 112 hub for the trailer market, or the company that did use it have changed design or pcd to suit another readily available cheaper rim

Is that the correct spec for 16" mefros to fit in a 14" syncro?
6Jx16H2 ET30, Mefro, 251601027MF
Thanks

Hello,
Just received the 16 inches steels from brickwerks and fitted them 205/65.
It has transformed the driving of the van, probably also because my previous 185/80 r14 were so old...
Anyway, super happy about this purchase.

Hi. Good to hear you're so pleased with them. Any chance you have a pic or two of the van with these on? I'm thinking about making the same change from my 14'' originals. I take it from what you have said that general handling is much improved? Is the speedo still relatively accurate? Centre/hub caps? My own van is on 50mm lowered springs - do you think that would that be an issue going up to 16''?
Sorry for all the questions! Been looking to upgrade my 14'' for quite a while and think these may give the look and improvement I'm after.
