18's are actually quite good because the rim/bead seating is alongside the top wishbone, so there is not much chance of it rubbing on the tyre sidewall, so it can be mounted quite close (although you need to check on full bump/droop and each lock)
iirc 16" are the worst for this, 17" just about clear.
