Play in top wishbone

Ive replaced my bushes ( spot welded) and refit . The van is off the ground on chocks. Upon reassembly there is excessive play from left to right . The rod is in the correct position with the flat face vertical on the rod. The washers are lobe down as per Bentley.
Is this right? Will it change once the van is on the ground again ... what have I done wrong.

Help!!

Not sure l understand all of this? Play left to right? Or back and forth perhaps? Are you absolutely sure play is coming from wishbone?
The rod and concentric washers are for adjusting camber. Zero degrees. Or wheel rim perfectly upright under weight of vehicle. Have you tightened to correct torque with wheels on ground?

Morning, when I mean left to right I mean in and out of the van... there is a slight gap between the wishbone and the chassis. The van is in the air at the moment I’ll try and send a pic.

It will rotate back and forth or in and out on concentric cam washers. Thats how you adjust camber.
Simple test...
I take it wishbone balljoint is disconnected?
Insert concentric washers, push through rod then add round washer and nut. Tighten to torque spec.
It should be very stiff to lift and lower by one hand.
If all good release nut and check by rotating rod with an allen socket size 14. Both sides of the wishbone should move in and out.
Grease accordingly and tighten bolt lightly.
Back on its wheels tighten to torque value.
If you want to adjust camber it is fairly easy. But likely best to put it in for four wheel alignment with a specialist
