Mercedes ML 17” wheels help

Post by T25boy71 »

Hi newbie here hi all.
I think of putting Mercedes ml 17” 5 spoke alloys of an early ml, I’ve seen the 16” are used a lot but I’ve seen some cheap 17” running on 225/50/17 tyres I’m waiting for them to give me the code Fromm the in side of the wheel so I can get the ET, my question is will they fit and I don’t fancy the 50 profile so how large a profile can you go ?
My van is a t25 z1 High top it’s was lowered all round 50mm but the rear sat lower than the front so the rear is now Standard hight. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Seems a very small tyre for an ML - a quick search suggests they are typically fitted with 255/60/17 or 275/55/17, and are likely to be quite wide at around 8.5"
ET is going to be around 47-52mm meaning a spacer around 18-25mm is going to be required - even then with the extra width of the wheel you may have clearance issues.

So the cheap wheels may not work out all that cheap once you work in the cost of spacers, studs/bolts & tyres.

May be better off sticking with a rim up to 6.5" with an ET in the low 30's

Your spot on 8.5 and et 52 on the 17s
The 16s have et of 47 and 6.5.
Thanks for the help
