Hi all. Anyone fitted any of these before?

Being sold as fitting T25 but ET is 23 - something Brickwerks caution against on their fitting blog. Ones to avoid or possible with spacers etc? Cheers.

I have just fitted Mercedes Penta Alloys which are ET23

To be honest, I cannot see how a wheel with a greater ET value would fit without spacers as the inner edge of the rim is already only 5mm or so away from the lower suspension arm.

Having a greater ET and then adding spacers is paramount to the same thing anyway!

ET23 is okay, I think Projekt Zwo went down to 22.
I had Merc MLs with spacers that went down to 23.

Period fitment ARC 7x15 are ET21. The wheel has to have this offset or the tyre will foul the top wishbone.
Basically, if a wider rim can't be set inwards then the extra width has to go outboard, so the ET figure will become smaller and the track will increase.
The SA 6.5 x 15 are ET30 and still clear, but the hub is separate (more like a syncro with the disc going over the hub) so this may act as a wheel spacer. The studs are slightly longer than German vans too, to allow a safe amount of thread engagement.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Sorry if this is obvious but am I likely to need spacers when fitting or is that when the ET is too high? From what’s been said thinking I might take a punt.

The lower the ET the more the wheel sticks out.
As such spacers are used when wheels have a high ET, ie stick in too much.

There are some good calculators if you google that allow you to input a wheels diameter, width and offset and compare. They will tell you how much more/less clearance etc

Agree with Ash123, the lower the ET the further out the wheel is.
I believe the ET to aim for is 30 to sort of maintain the VW handling.
I run a 7j 15" alloy which have an ET of 38 and use an 8mm spacer to bring them out to an ET of 30. They're shod with 205 x 65 load rated tyres and these work perfectly.
Also worth bearing in mind the sliding door clearance if the ET is too low then you may well clash.
Also the type of wheel nut to suit your rim, tapered or radiused.
