I've yet to test speedo at much greater speeds. Don't suppose it matters apart from knowing where the markers are for speed cameras. Will make a point of stretching its legs and checking the GPS to see if its out and by how much. Is correct up to 45mph anyway. If it says 30mph or 40mph it really IS 30 or 40 - not 27 or 38 as with most stock setups. Those Mercedes 1264002802 Wheels bolt straight on without any spacers. :D No lugs for hubcaps but I like the bare wheel look.

I have two spare wheels if you are looking to accumulate a full set.

Ive finally got the tyres fitted and all on. Very pleased :ok

Ive driven about 20 miles probably, and it all feels great. It rolls very smoothly, with less body roll in corners and the whole bus just feels more stable and solid. I drove home up the back of Cragg Vale road from littlebrough end (aka the longest gradient in england, as seen on tour de france this year) and it did take a bit did take a bit of welly to keep it moving and had to drop into 3rd for the steepest parts, but then it always did and was no great surprise, especially if you have to brake for something! Its still nippy in the low gears in traffic, ive not been on any motorways yet. No idea on speedo yet either. Its definitely a bit higher too. No rubbing noticed yet, but will be watching closely.

Mine are a smidge smaller than CovKids, but with a shorter tyre wall. My new ones are 215/65/16 which makes them 27 inches tall, vs the stock 25.75", and covkids 27.28" seen in his posts above.

I do really like the fuller arches and it looks like a good match for the size of the bus. Ive always liked steel wheels :ok I just need to hammerite the hubs and grease caps and protect them from the weather.

Aye, I much prefer steelies too. Gives it an honest understated look and much easier to maintain than ally. Yep, definately fit the arches better. Feels a bit like being on a bus at first due to the increase in height but I love it. Makes overtaking far easier as you can see more. Check out the somewhat different gear changes. :D Its only mild, but definately different. Good price on the tyres??

The tyres are Minerva commercials, they were £65 each fitted. Not bad i guess, but i hadn't really looked into tyres for some years. scary what some people have to pay for their rude boy range rover sport tyres!

Ill keep the 14 inchers and wheels until im certain for sure ill keep with this setup, then sell them on i suppose. not the easiest things to store in the cellar... :|

Now start looking for your next set of tyres. I'm not saying buy them now but when you start looking early and look around, a set may just fall into your lap at the right price. I do that continually and never pay a fortune for tyres. Certainly by the time you get to 3-4mm tread, the next set should be in storage ready for fitment.

I've asked this before, but don't think anyone replied - anyone fitted stock T25 hubcaps to the mefro wheels somehow. I'm aware that you'd need to screw in some clips of some sort.

I'm down with the syncro steel wheel look, but my wife likes the shiny hubcaps - what's a man to do?!

ahh i havnt seen any like that... but they may exist for some vehicle out there.

there are those 'trim rings' that would glam up some plain steels though..

Way to go Gary. Thanks for posting link. Will need some careful thought to get the position of the lugs correct to avoid them going round in an oval but thats cool - VW hubcap fittings.

Quite a few to choose from too... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... S&_sacat=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

These would be what i would use, though im not sure if theyd fit on merc rims (designed for mefros). although four of them plus postage makes quite a lot of $$ just for plastic bits :run
