Hi all,
Does anyone have experience of buying this?
I have a home built unit made of quite thick wood that works perfectly for us, but thinking about remaking it in vohringer ply.
Searches bring up lightweight ply or vohringer ply with big delivery costs.
I remember years ago speaking to a bloke that owned a wood yard; clearly a successful man, yet he’d never heard of it!

My interior is made from Vohringer board it is very lightweight and companies like Westfalia and Riemo used it. Although not cheap I would recommend it.

Morland has an UK alternative. Same EN636-1 standard.
Probably easier to get them than the german Voehringer

I opted for Morland - its light and very workable.
Luckily for me its only 45 minutes away so I collected it.

I used Hardwood ply and Pine furniture board (which is very light anyway for surfaces) to replace my old units which were Vohringer. The advantage of using lightweight ply compared to Hardwood ply is not that great unless you are using a lot of it so a lot depends on the design of your units. Compared to the weight of the van and all the camping gear a few kilograms less or more makes little difference to the overall weight and economy in terms of mpg.

I agree with you. I made units in 6mm birch ply. My current set up is very minimal and simplistic. It really works for us, or I’ve made it work for us over the years.
I made it using whitewood planned all round timber. Quite thick stuff but dead easy to work with. Some of this lighter weight ply would be good but no where near me seems to supply it.
