which models had the 'CAMPING' badge?

Hi All,

The badge on the right of my tailgate says CAMPING instead of TRANSPORTER. I wondered if this was this put on by a particular company, or is it something that people add themselves?

Cheers

As I know it had a partnr by VW.
Early Westfalias had it by default, later with the newer font design they were taken out.

Thanks,

I've just noticed Devon vans have 'Camping' on them, but I don't think mine is a Devon.

I have a Devon Eurovette and it just has TRANSPORTER on the back!

I think , although I’m happy to be proven wrong, that it’s age related , and  "camping " and "Bus" badged windowed busses may not have been a thing after about ‘86
later Devons were either "Caravelle" or "Tramsporter", no  idea about westies.

Ah, the Devon I was looking at was 80 or 81, so that fits in.

according to ETKA, the old style Transporter badge with similar lettering was used up to VIN nr. 24-D-200 000 which means end of model year '83
from '84 the new style badge was used, so I think the CAMPING was removed too

My 'homebrew' has a camping badge because I put it on 15 years ago from a VW dealer, 1985 early tailgate badge spacing. :ok

Mine has the DEVON Camping badges on the back, presumably put on during the conversion.

My 82 Devon has a CAMPING badge no idea if it was Devon or VW who fitted it. But the Devon badge is fitted directly above the camping badge, and was there when Ibought her some 24 years ago. Its on right hand side with TRANSPORTER on left side of tailgate
