Diesel heater repair

Hi All,
When we bought our T25, a few months ago, the previous owner told us that it had a diesel heater, but that it didn't work. He had never used it, but thought that the problem was just missing pipework underneath.
Here are some photographs of what I currently have ...
^ This piece was just dangling when we got the van. I attached it with a few cable ties to protect it better.
I assume that it's almost impossible to make suggestions based on these photographs.
If I'm wrong, I'd love to hear what you'd suggest!
If I'm right, what would you do next? Is this worth trying to repair, or is it likely to cost hundreds of pounds?
Thanks,
Damian

don't have a heating system in mine but looks like you may have something similar to this fitted or partially fitted.

Looks like someone has disconnected the fuel lines, reconnect them and see if it runs an hour at most and a few feet of pipe

That is your pump .
That is your fuel line zip tied to the exhaust ( it’ll melt if it was running ) , it should connect to the above pump , and that could well be the pumps power feed with it

Chinese fuel pump, Chinese exhaust, not an Eberspacher connector, I should think that it is a Chinese Airtronic knock off.

So too often nowadays.
Instead of a loveheart likey button, how about a lack of response, no gratitude button. The symbol could be a thumbs down, or a bust of Caligula?

If you think I'm quet on here, think of my poor van!
The amount that I'm visiting this forum is in direct relation to the amount that I'm getting to tinker with the van. It's sitting lonely and cold on the drive.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I started far too many threads at once (one for each issue), so haven't kept up with all of them. Especially when I'm not sure how to respond, or what to do next. I'm more of a computer geek than a mechanic, so I have no idea what I'm doing with this stuff.
@Mocki, I zip tied everything to stop them moving around. When we bought the van, it was all just dangling underneath! Swaying around and probably hitting the ground when going over bumps. I've no idea how long it may have been like that.
@davidoft1, Thanks for your suggestion to reconnect the pipes and see what happens. From my current level of understanding, I don't know enough to do that. Are you aware of any videos that could walk me though it? I have no idea what pipe will I need, where I should connect it, how I should connect it? etc.
@TONYT25T25 and Oldiebut goodie, thanks for helping me to identify it.
I think I'm out of my league with this.
If anyone has any suggestions of what to do next (in much more basic terms than 'reconnect it'
), or if there's anyone that I could take this to (I'm based in Somerset), I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Damian

Why not carry on using it? A lot of us have petrol vans and are running diesel heaters.

Interesting - what are you using for a fuel tank?
