Carpeting a Devon pop top roof

Hi all, I’m looking to carpet the roof of my Devon pop top as it’s now shedding it’s fibres. Currently there is no insulation between the carpet and the roof so I was wondering if it was worth putting some up there before I carpet it. Has anyone here put insulation on theirs?

Thanks for looking.

Is there any point as there is a mass of canvas that will be cold. Good duvet and snuggle up!! Waste of time and money in my humble opinion.

Do you mean a 'mushroom' pop top or a full length sleeper.. :?:

Cordialement,

That’s kind of what I was thinking, I’ll just go with the 4 way stretch carpet and be done. Thanks for your help 👍🏻

Hi, it’s the full length side elevating roof with the stripy vinyl 👍🏻

I have a similar issue with mine, a fine dust drops from it, I have given it a good vaccuming which has removed some of the dusty bits, tempted to spray it with something which seals it in.

Hello,

It was not the nicest job getting the furry roof liner off the van plywood interior as it had been glued on with neoprene adhesive needing
acetone to dissolve the backing.

However to address the dust problem, for years I had to vacuum the lining and finally had some success with 10% epa adhesive mixed in hot water then sprayed on, scrubbed in and re hoovered....

My Reimo mushroom top is ply lined and so now has insulation and stretch carpet lining... 8)
